Unbelievable fabric for the price. This is the first item of clothing I have made in 35 years and I’m delighted with it. Fabric is quite thick and hangs well, would also be ideal for a full coat or skirt
This was my first time using boucle so I was glad I had read others experiences of using this fabric. I overlocked the edges before sewing as it frayed quite a lot after washing/cutting. It also molted quite a bit whilst sewing. However, I am pleased with the final result and just waiting for a dry day to wear it.
Fabulous looking material, and I love my Shacket now it's made.
Bit of a difficult one to handle whilst making, frays and stretches, so be warned and take precautions - but the end result is well worth it.
This was the perfect fabric for a baja hoodie. It’s a relatively loose weave as are all boucle fabrics so it was worth overlocking all exposed edges before I started. It sewed easily and washed well.
Made a skirt suit with it, feels great against skin and super forgiving to sew with. Unpicking is tricky though because the stitches disappear so much. Selvedge is pretty enough to use as a trim finish - saved on hemming too
Fantastic fabric. Ordered 2 metres originally but placed another order for another 2. For what I had in mind it wasn't necessary. This fabric is perfect. If you are in any doubt, go for it
Boucle fabric always looks smart so just made a simple dress. It was good to sew although frays a lot and definitely needed the seams overlooked, but really pleased with the outcome. PF service and delivery first class as usual.
It's ok. I thought it would make a nice marlo cardigan but it's more of a loosely woven fabric not knit. It wouldn't be too nice next to the skin as it's not soft. I think made into a jacket with a lining would be the best option.
Lovely warm fabric for a jumpsuit. Had to overlock edges immediately it was cut out as it frayed quickly. Really pleased I had enough left to go towards a jacket too.
I love this fabric. As someone who can’t wear wool (even a few per cent in a mix) I was delighted to find a boucle I could wear. Just waiting to find the right buttons to finish it off.
Made a skirt and now contemplating a jacket. I shall use interfacing and overlock the edges prior to sewing. It can fray so shall cut slightly larger than normal and use a 5/8ths seam allowance.
I did overlock each piece of the skirt before making up. This has become one of my favourite skirts and I plan to make a jacket to match. However I shall stabalise the fabric with iron on interfacing and overlock before construction.
