Gorgeous pattern for a pair of wide-leg evening trousers with elasticated waist. Lovely fabric to wear but very tricky to cut and sew as it frays really badly so took longer to make up than I would have liked!

Coastal Garden Viscose Satin Fabric

This fabric was bought to use as slippy satin practice fabric, I’m an experienced sewer who has dodged satin fabrics until now. The fabric has a beautiful satin sheen to the face and is incredibly fluid with its 170gms weight giving it a surprising quality feel for its price. The fabric obviously frays a lot, you really need to overlock seam edges or do French seams. The fabric pattern does rather remind me of chintz sofa covers with this in mind I used it to make a nightshirt not sure I’d wear this pattern in public. The nightshirt feels fabulous on, just need to get buttons to finish it.

I made a wrap dress for a wedding. The material is lovely. And it doesn't crease but it is slippery to work with. I had to use a hair bobble to hold the tie together because it kept skipping apart. I had so many beautiful comments

Coastal Garden Viscose Satin Fabric

Really pleased with the material and it sewed beautifully, I did sew french seams as it frayed. The top has a lovely drape . I washed the fabric first as recommended and it seemed softer after washing.
