'Insul-Bright' Heat Resistant Wadding - For Quilting
This insulated polyester wadding (also called batting) is ideal for your warm home projects! The fibres and reflective film reflect any hot or cold energy back to its source, not allowing it to pass through - ideal for an item like oven mitts.
Other practical wadding uses: Pot holders, Mattress Covers, Quilts, Place Mats, Upholstery, Table Runners & also garments such as Coats and Jackets, Gloves and Mittens, Slippers etc.
This wadding consists of polyester fibres needle-punched through a non-woven substrate and through a reflective metallised film. The needled material breathes and won't break down with washing.

I've used this insul-bright before and its great for oven gloves or cool bags. I used it this time for a cool bag. A little difficult choosing which side is the shiny side.
My first attempt at oven gloves. I found them tricky - especially as it was suggested to have a double layer of this and I found it difficult to handle (slippery!)
I've used this product loads of times. I always use two layers when making oven gloves and can honestly say I've never been disappointed with the results. PF is always where I buy this product from as I can always be guaranteed of fast delivery.
I love 'Insul-Bright' Heat resistant wadding. I wanted to use up some scraps I had and decided to order from Pound Fabrics, as they offer this wadding at the cheapest price, to sew some lovely pink place mats. I use these not only as place mats but hot pads. They are very versatile and I have made these many times before as they are great for scrap-busting. I use Insul-Bright in oven gloves which I make regularly for myself, friends and family. I use a double layer on the bits that I would hold the hot things - ie the backs of the oven gloves - and a single layer on the fronts. Works perfectly every time!
This is my 2nd order of this product. It’s very stable and doesn’t move around when sewing. It’s really thick so only one layer required when making oven gloves, table mats and pot holders . I also use it for quilt batting as it’s so warm and quilts up beautifully.
I've used this product for many oven glove projects. I tend to use two layers to ensure there's plenty of protection. Great price from PF and service, as always is excellent.
Pair of Finger & Thumb Pot Holders, with insul bright inside, they look like mini oven gloves. Made as a gift, and they aren’t bulky. These are ideal for handling hot microwave ware, and hot silicone in the airfryer. The insul bright was very competitively priced.

I used this product as lining for my placemats as I didn’t want to risk damaging my new table. The quality is excellent and thicker than I thought it would be. It was very sturdy and easy to use, I did baste it first so it wouldn’t move as I top stitched, I’m very pleased with the finished result and got compliments off family and friends that have eaten here since I made the mats. Would definitely buy again.
