This rainbow Rip Stop Fabric is thin and lightweight and naturally water repellent. Rip-Stop is a strong fabric due to the cross-hatch pattern of polyester threads woven into the pattern. This makes it ideal for flags, banners, bags, play-tents, lightweight water repellent jackets etc

It was easy to cut and sew. Made hot air balloon with 3 different fabrics. The rainbow looks perfect with the other fabric shades.
This made some fabulously vibrant fold up oversized shopper bags, based on an old bag from Wilko I took apart at the end of its life.
Decided to line them (with some PF lining fabric from my stash) to add an internal patch pocket, & also because the underside of this fabric is not as vibrant as the right side, rather a pale dull colour with the check pattern of the ripstop visible. (Had made the same bag with a previous floral waterresistant PF fabric & inside was almost as pretty as outside so didn’t line).
Love that this fabric is light so bag folds away small, but really strong so you can carry lots (I french seamed for extra strength). Especially love that it is water resistant, so helps keep your shopping dry if you are caught in a shower, or good for throwing wet swim things in without it soaking through (& bag dries quickly afterwards).
I throw it on a 30 wash when needed, line dry & good as new. No fraying, really easy to cut out & sew. I did pin it & the fabric was forgiving of the pin holes.
Used PF Hemline heavy duty snaps, which I had to practice but easy once you get the knack.
Only problem was friends liked the bags too, so ended up giving my first ones away, & have bought more fabric to make some for me! Thought I’d try the PF Royal blue antistatic lining fabric this time & now has arrived I think will be another good colour match.

Fabric is nice and bright, feels a bit like a waterproof jacket.
Used the ripstop with the faux suede and the pound fabric ribbing from a while ago to make this jacket. All three fabrics are not the easiest to work with but I’m so very pleased with the end result. It’s all lovely fabric if you are patient with it!
Getting ready for Winter now. After having bought the plain rip stop for other successful projects I decided to get this thicker rainbow fabric to make my daughter a colourful cover to keep her warm and dry while out in her wheelchair. Lined with PF fleece. Self drafted. Great to sew, used my new overlocker.
The loss of one star is only because it is very slippery and a bit out of my novice comfort zone. However, I managed to insert a zip for a waterproof seat cover which Molly was ok with photobombing. It also made a liner bag for my rucksack, which Molly declined to model. Diva dogs 🙄
The rainbow rstop is much more beautoful than expected. I wish I had orderedmore so I could make a coat as well as bags! The ramie/ cotton is a beautiful colour and the black cotton is for clergy blouses. Great materials!
Made 25metres of bunting for my grandchild’s first birthday party. Beautiful rainbow colours (the request for party decorations was rainbows). Turned out even better than expected. Good quality material that can be used inside or out. Lovely to work with.
I ordered some of this previously and it was so beautiful when it arrived I wished I had ordered more so I was pleased when it reappeared. It is very light weight and flexible and will make an excellent jacket and I hope a couple of bags.
