A plain, medium weight, ponteroma fabric available in 2 colours. This fabric has a minimal stretch across the width and would be suitable for a range of dressmaking projects such as dresses, skirts, trousers, tops and more.
Ponte Roma is a double knit jersey - it is thicker than single jersey fabrics and also has less stretch.

I love sewing with ponte roma! It's a knit fabric that has a degree of stability so it handles very well.
I used my ponte roma to make the Cleo pinafore by Tilly & the Buttons. I'll definitely buy other colours!
A light viscose ponte bought primarily as a toile fabric for a trouser pattern as similar fabric to the main fabric bought. Having said this these trousers have been worn out as turned out not too bad. What I found was because of the fibre content this fabric would be more suitable for a dress as the drape is very good. As for trousers I found that where the thighs rubbed higher to the crotch area bobbles appeared. It would make a nice wrap dress due to the weight as not your typical thickish ponte fabric.
I ordered another 4 metres of this Ponte Roma. It's fab for making practice garments as I like sewing with jersey. I made a practice T shirt which I wear and I'm currently trying the Montana midi dress.
It's an amazing bargain price.
First time using a stretch fabric and found it quite difficult to cut but was fine for sewing. Have made a fit and flare dress with it which looks quite good. Pleased with it considering I've never sewn with this sort of fabric.
Not likely to buy stretch fabric again.
I bought this Ponte Roma to use for toiling as it was an amazing price, much cheaper than calico! It is superb quality. I am currently toiling a T-Shirt and it's lovely to sew with, I reckon I will be wearing the toile!
Not used ponte roma before, and this was thinner than I expected, I thought it was a thicker fabric. Having said that, it was only 1.95 per metre, so maybe the more expensive ones are thicker? Regardless, im very happy with my purchase, it was easy to cut and sew, and made a lovely pair of sinclair helen pants 🙂. Delivery was very quick and I would not hesitate to buy from pound fabrics again .
I always like to have black jersey in my stash and this was such a good deal. I have clients who regularly want black stretch garments but some of this will be used to make a Style Arc Brice jumpsuit for myself. Rarely buy patterns but this one is genius.
Nice soft ponte. I used this to make yet another pair of parker ponte pants by Style Arc. These are my go to comfy trousers. This ponte is ideal for them.
